Company Policy COVID-19

As a long established business within the community, we understand the responsibility and expectations of how we need to conduct ourselves in these very challenging times.

With information continually changing and upgrading every 24 hours or so, then so do we need to also make adjustments. So, following is a list of the precautionary responsibilities all our staff have and what they must do as part of our company policy on this matter.

All Staff

  1. Wash/Sanitise your hands every time you enter a site even after your lunch breaks or smoko breaks.
  2. Cough or sneeze into your elbow, then Wash/Sanitise your hands immediately.
  3. Social distancing is paramount. Minimum of 1.5meters away from another tradesmen at all times. We ask all customers to adhere and respect this.
  4. All site attending staff must wear face mask whilst on site.
  5. Must wear a mask when entering the property inside any living space(s). For example commissioning a heater, service staff and sales staff.
  6. Optional – Wear gloves on site. Once you have finished on a site, they are disposed of in the bin and a new set is used at the next job.
  7. Wash/Sanitise your hands everytime, before you enter your vehicle.
  8. Wash/Sanitise your hands everytime after going to the toilet.
  9. Wash/Sanitise your hands before eating.
  10. Wash/Sanitise your hands after handling animals or look visibly dirty.
  11. Your hands should be washed/sanitised thoroughly for 20 seconds up to your wrist and for-arms.
  12. Ask all new site/customer occupants, again if there is any level of risk that they may have the COVID19 virus? Overseas travel, temperature, coughing or sneezing, etc. This will also be established by our staff prior to your arrival on site.
  13. Any elderly people should be isolated in a room away from any tradesmen when on site.
  14. Again distance yourself away from any other workmate or site person as per guidelines of 1.5meters.
  15. All Customers are required to wear a mask in the presence of any McKinnon staff member.
  16. Those Customers who choose not to wear a mask your appointment will be cancelled.
  17. If you are unwell, you are required as per normal protocol to attend your doctor immediately and be examined so they can ascertain if you are fit for work. Out of courtesy call them first before arrival to discuss what symptoms you may have.
  18. All customers if you have any queries that relate to our Covid 19 policy, or that of our tradesmen, we ask that you make your concern known prior to us attending, so at the time of booking the job in for installation/service, so that we can engage with you at a Covid standard that you maybe happy with.

Please don’t ask after the fact if you have concerns, talk to us when the job is being scheduled, we want to know early please and work with you.

Sales Staff

Same as above, Masks, Social distancing and hand hygiene is critical. You are expected to work from home as set up and running at the moment.

Office Staff

  1. Contact with packages should be avoided, where ever possible. Use wipes or gloves and dispose of straight after contact.
  2.  Do not sign any electronic device with your hand or finger(s), the driver can sign on your behalf.
  3. Credit Card Handling – use tap and go where we can and the customer can hold the card for the tap and go.
  4. Front Reception Desk & Admin Desks all three. We ask all customers not to lean over the front desks and to keep the 1.5 meter rule.

Ensure we have bollards up in place or floor markings.

  1. Our Office will be closed to outside walk in enquiries – until advised otherwise.

We are all aware of the heightened anxiety that everyone has that surrounds this issue and we ask all staff to be responsible, patient and co-operative as we in return ask customers and people from the public we engage with as well.
